Superhero in all of us.It’s Superbowl Sunday!!!! That probably means something a little different for all of us. I am getting ready to watch the halftime show…woot woot my favorite part of the game!!! The theme of the week is SUPER!!!! What are you super at??? Maybe you are a super mom, a super friend, a super wife, super at cooking, a super employee, a super boss, a super listener or super at making people laugh. We are all super at something! Sometimes our “superpowers” make a shift through the years or get a little rusty as we take on new responsibilities, new environments and new challenges in life. Take a little time this week to remember what you are super at and tap into those superpowers. Do what you need to do to be SUPER this week!!!

Ripped Row and Roll – STARTING THIS MONDAY!!!!

Rowing ClassesWe have been working hard to bring you something NEW, EFFECTIVE and FUN that will give you a high intensity strength building workout, with low impact on the joints. Ripped, Row and Roll is designed to give you everything you need in just 45 minutes.

Groups of up to 8 will alternate between various types of rowing intervals and strength building intervals in a nonstop 30 minute workout. You will end with myofascia work on the foam rollers to help your muscles recover their best. Self-myofascial release is a fancy term for self-massage to release muscle tightness or trigger points. It is a techneque used by athletes and therapists to  to aid in recovery of muscles that are prone to being overactive from exercise, stress and muscle imbalances.

SPORTS CONDITIONING FOR KIDS

A SECOND 3PM SESSION ADDED for High School Students!!!!!!!

Sports Conditioning for KidsI am excited to announce that we will be adding sports conditioning sessions for kids who are ready to improve their agility, increase speed, build strength and core conditioning and take their game to the next level!!! These 5 Week Sessions will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A second session was added for high school age students.

High School Age Students – 3:00-3:45 pm

Ages 9-13 – 4:15-5:00 pm

We are excited to welcome another great coach to the FitHouse team – Rhea Huwe

Rhea HuwePlease help us welcome Rhea Huwe to FitHouse. Rhea will be leading the youth sports and conditioning program as well as sharing her skills in personal training and teaching classes at FitHouse. You find out a little more about her below!

As a child I was always involved in sports, soccer and gymnastics being my two favorite. In high school, I started running track and field, where I participated in sprints, hurdles, jumps, and pole vault. I continued my athletic career in Track and Field at Waynesburg University, where I earned school records in the 100m and 200m, as well as a Presidents Athletic Conference Championship. My love of sports and training lead me to obtaining a bachelors degree in Exercise Science. Since graduation, I have continued to involve my passion with sports conditioning as an assistant track coach for Waynesburg University, a speed coach at a sports performance facility, and with personal training. I currently live in Canonsburg with my boyfriend Zachary and our puppy, Jermichael. I am looking forward to being a part of the FitHouse community!

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
½ cup frozen unsweetened black cherries, pitted
½ cup ice

Preparation:

Place almond milk, Shakeology, cherries, and ice in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.
