I’m sure that some of you may have some surprising steps in your journey too!!! Sometimes when we are taking certain steps in life they seem quite insignificant but when we look back we see just how much significance they really had on the person that we are now. No matter where you are right now, what you are doing, what path you are on trust that it is where you are meant to be! Keep working on being your best self, sharing your gifts and incorporating your best practices daily and you are always moving in the right direction even if you are not quite sure what direction that is!!

Ripped Row and Roll
Join us in this new small group series designed to give you 45 minutes of muscle building, heart pumping power…balancing things out with 10 minutes of myofascia work on the foam roller to end. The first 35 minutes will alternate between various rowing intervals and intervals of pure strength, core, upper or lower body depending on the day! Specific times, days, packages and specials will be posted early this week!

SPORTS CONDITIONING FOR KIDS starting February 15th!!!!!
I am excited to announce that we will be adding sports conditioning sessions for kids who are ready to improve their agility, increase speed, build strength and core conditioning and take their game to the next level!!! These 4 Week Sessions will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 4:15-5pm. To sign up, click on the schedule.
SMOOTHIE 7-Day Recharge is returning in March!
Sometimes all you need is a recharge-refocus jump start to get your good eating habits back on track!! Our first Smoothie Recharge was a HUGE success!!! So we are bringing it back!

The average weight loss following our first SMOOTHIE refocus week in January was 3-4 pounds!! Yes, 3-4 pounds!! Other amazing changes during that week included decreasing sugar intake and sugar cravings, refocus your long-term healthy eating habits, “cleaning” your body’s systems and finding that success is about planning, focus and support! New recipes, fun daily challenges and check-ins.

We are thrilled to welcome our new FitHouse team member, Lindsay!
You will be seeing a new face around FitHouse! We are excited to be growing the FitHouse Team and want to give a warm welcome to Lindsay Kober. When I met Lindsay I was impressed with her positive energy, her friendly professional demeanor and her go gettem attitude!!! I have a great feeling that she will fit right in here at FitHouse and we are excited for you to meet her!
Lindsay began her fitness career here in Pittsburgh in corporate wellness at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Headquarters. Having the opportunity to work with so many different individuals has challenged, motivated, and pushed Lindsay to be the best she can. Her goal is to relate, inspire, and share her passion and creativity with everyone. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Coastal Carolina University and is a certified instructor through AFAA. Her focus is to provide unique, new, and challenging workouts to engage and drive her clients to push through something different and out of their normal routines and comfort zones.
In her spare time you can find Lindsay traveling and competing in races. She has traveled as far as Louisville, KY to participate in a color run and is constantly looking to try new experiences and influence others to do the same. Lindsay hopes to inspire, motivate, and expand the FitHouse Community and is excited to work, learn, and grow with everyone!

Lost and Found
PLEASE CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND IN THE UPSTAIRS HALLWAY CUBBY FOR YOUR ITEMS! WE WILL BE DONATING THE ITEMS THAT ARE UNCLAIMED BY THE END OF JANUARY TO MAKE ROOM FOR OTHER ITEMS.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup red pepper
- 8 ounces black beans
- 8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 2 limes
- 1 cup shredded Monterey jack
- 8 tablespoons salsa
- 20 ounces lean ground turkey
- 4 teaspoons ground cumin
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- salt to taste
Directions
Sauté the onion in a pan until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the turkey, chili powder, cumin and salt.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the turkey is browned, 7-10 minutes. Once cooked through, let cool.
- Place the lettuce evenly in four containers.
- Evenly distribute red pepper and black beans in the containers.
- Once turkey is cool, place evenly on top of salad in four containers.
- Garnish with the lime wedges, salsa and cheese. Wait to squeeze the lime on top of salad before eating.
